Detail as part of the music

In Forest Classic 18.1, we combine clarity of detail with careful attention to the overall balance of sound. The AMT tweeter and carefully refined passive crossover reproduce high frequencies precisely, without artificially emphasising them at the expense of the rest of the spectrum. Our aim is to preserve the character of the performance: the nuances of a voice, the power of instruments and the full timbre of each note. Through careful tuning and the reduction of colouration introduced by the loudspeaker itself, we create a presentation suited to extended listening. The energy and bite captured in the recording remain part of the music.

A dedicated space for the midrange

The midrange driver operates in its own 3D-printed chamber. Its structure is reinforced with a mineral-polymer compound, while wadding and aramid provide internal damping. This arrangement is part of our work to optimise the driver’s operating conditions and limit the cabinet’s unwanted influence on the sound. The aluminium-cone bass drivers operate in a chamber containing two types of damping material. The damping, cabinet construction and system tuning are developed together to meet the model’s sonic objectives.

Solid construction beneath the finish

The Forest Classic 18.1 cabinet uses a layered construction combining plywood and MDF. The front baffle is made from 26 mm MDF, with three internal braces providing additional rigidity. Extra 16 mm MDF side panels are bonded to the cabinet using a flexible adhesive. We select the materials, joints and bracing for their contribution to rigidity and vibration damping. From the outset, the cabinet is an integral part of the acoustic design.

Texture, form, finish

The front and rear panels are covered in vegan leather. The veneered sides are finished with hardwax oil, highlighting the grain of the wood. A 6 mm sheet of body-tinted glass completes the top of the cabinet. Together, these surfaces give the loudspeaker a distinctive, cohesive appearance. At the rear, an aluminium terminal plate is integrated with a 3D-printed bass-reflex port. The cabinet sits on a 10 mm steel base fitted with adjustable, two-piece feet incorporating a bearing ball.
